What is the Dos LOCOS and who needs it?
The journey to create the DOS LOCOS is a story of collaboration and discovery, highlighting the process as much as the outcome.
Born from the innovative spirit of the Phono Loco, with its pioneering all-transimpedance approach, the DOS LOCOS stands as a significant advancement in Ron Sutherland’s artistry.
For the first time, he teamed with trusted, passionate experts to add an ear-approved essence to his already proven approach to elegant circuitry.
Sutherland and team patiently experimented with combinations of parts and processes until they happily arrived at the moment where the music left everyone speechless. Only then did the DOS LOCOS arrive.
Everything that made the PHONO LOCO such a landmark piece — its no-compromises approach with no concession or allowance for anything that clutters the signal path — is refined to the point of pure musicality with the dual-mono DOS LOCOS.
Is it twice as crazy good, as the name might suggest? At least!

What is the DUO and who needs it?
The DUO is derived from the cost-optimized 20/20. The 20/20 was designed to get the most performance possible at its predetermined price point. To get there, extra was spent to get premium parts and circuitry into the signal path.
The DUO can also be ordered with an optional internal Linear Power Supply board.
The LPS circuit board is a popular option that adds a more refined musicality with a more solid foundation for dynamic expression.

What is the 20/20 and who needs it?
The 20/20 is a phono preamp that comes in one compact chassis, there are two identical circuit boards. One for the RIGHT channel and one for the LEFT channel. Each has it’s own shielded compartment and each has it’s own power supply. Thus it is truly a DUAL MONO implementation of a stereo phono preamp.
It performs beautifully and brings pleasure to music lovers all over the world. The design has proven to be rock solid with long-term stability and reliability.

What is the Insight and who needs it?
The Insight is a combination of solid, thoughtful engineering – with an artisanal attention to every design decision. All the areas of performance, aesthetics, reliability, circuit design, circuit board layout, parts selection, packaging — ALL of those aspects must seamlessly dovetail into one expression. For those with a taste for understated elegance, the Insight will deliver an enduring pride of ownership.

There are indications of high-end qualities – even before you listen or take off the cover. The KC Vibe uses a 48 volt external power supply to provide a huge margin for extensive filtering and isolation. There are also machined, gold plated and teflon insulated audio jacks. With the cover removed, you will see the signature Sutherland circuit board layout aesthetic.

The TZ VIBE design has combined elements from two of our well established and highly regarded products. The KC VIBE provides the foundation and second gain stage. The little LOCO Mk2 provides the transimpedance (TZ) input gain stage. It is an incredible opportunity to try the Sutherland transimpedance experience at a more accessible price.

The TZ DIRECT advances our phono preamp range. It combines our most refined transimpedance input stage with a second gain stage derived from our legacy line stages. Each of those stages contributes to the musicality. Working together, the music effortlessly flows into your system.

What is a SUTZ and who needs it?
The Sutherland SUTZ is a very special analog product that uses transimpedance to raise the output of your low-output, low-impedance moving coil cartridge to the level of a moving magnet cartridge.
SUTZ stands for Step-Up Transimpedance (Z being the symbol of impedance), and is based on the first gain stage of the flagship Sutherland Dos Locos transimpedance phonostage and shares the same chassis as the Little Loco Mk2.

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
You may have noticed a new kind of phono preamp design on the market—usually referred to as ‘current input’. Until recently, this approach has been very much in the background. But, listeners and reviewers are now giving it some serious consideration. And many love what they hear.
The Sutherland little LOCO is my realization of this approach. From the first moments of listening, the musicality is stunning—spacious, effortless & full.
