TP-2.5i Phono Stage

The new TP-2.5i phono stage represents a tremendous value for those looking to assemble a high resolution analog system at a reasonable cost. Completely re-designed from the earlier version, the TP-2.5i is trickled down from our flagship phono stage, the renowned TP-6.5. Delivering a large measure of the musicality and resolution of its much more expensive stablemate, the new TP-2.5i offers dramatic improvements in speed, delicacy, nuance and drive.

  • Low noise hybrid JFET/tube active MC stage, and pure tube MM stage.

  • Separate MM and MC inputs.

  • User-switchable MC resistive cartridge loading with 6 settings: 100Ω, 250Ω, 470Ω, 1kΩ, 4k7Ω, 47kΩ.

  • User selectable MC StepUp loads are 100Ω, 470Ω, 1kΩ.

  • User selectable MM loads are 10kΩ, 47kΩ, 100kΩ.

  • User- switchable MC gain settings of 62dB and 56dB.

  • Passive RIAA filter,

  • Buffered output for driving low impedances through any cable.

  • Zero microprocessor noise.

  • Front panel Power, Rumble/Mono and Mute switches.

  • Rumble function rolls off to -3dB at 10Hz.

VTL TP-2.5i phono stage

TP-6.5 Series II Signature Phono Preamplifier

The TP-6.5 Series II Signature Phono Preamplifier is a major update and improvement to the TP-6.5 Signature Phono stage. Its upgrades include circuit enhancements originally developed for the acclaimed TL-7.5 Series III Reference Preamplifier, as well as newly designed, more robust power storage for the active MC stage.

  • Input selection

  • MC Gain adjust: 5 steps of 6dB: 44dB, 50dB, 56dB, 62dB, 68dB

  • MC Step Up Option Gain: 65dB balanced output, 59dB single-ended output

  • Load setting: MC: 100Ω, 250Ω, 470Ω, 1kΩ, 2.5kΩ, 4.7kΩ, 47kΩ and User Defined, and MM – 10kΩ, 22kΩ, 47kΩ and User Defined.

  • Load setting for MC Step Up: 47Ω, 100Ω, 470Ω, 1.0kΩ

  • Mono switch

  • Phase flip, absolute, and channel to channel

  • RIAA select, for Enhanced RIAA and Rumble cut

  • Mute

Circuit Features

  • 2 single ended inputs, with discrete load settings for each input

  • Single-ended and Balanced outputs, with 68dB total gain balanced

  • Active Hybrid low noise J-FET driving high current 12AU7 MC gain stage for highest resolution of small signal levels
